Our Milestones

In 2024, after the launch of the project in New York, BHAF signed an MOU with the Nigerian Ministry of Women Affairs, Federal Capital Territory, to provide a strategy for rapid, large-scale and coordinated action for the first cohort of its Women Accelerated program towards women empowerment by ensuring

• Personal development

• Business sector management,

• Access to funds & market and

• Knowledge and skills transfer

As part of the accelerators program, the Accelerators were expected to step down business knowledge gathered towards the empowerment of rural women across the 5 regions in the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria as well as their mentorship group made up of 10 women entrepreneurs. The step-down training aimed to support the personal wellbeing of rural women in the communities as well as and their Agro businesses.

In Congo DRC, the BHAF project will focus on sensitization and awareness creation at the beginning of the project. This approach is due to the outcome of an extensive stakeholder’s engagement which revealed that few women were involved in the circular sector hence the need for an intensive sensitization program. The program further revealed the category of young women to be sensitized. This includes tertiary institutions and other community related spaces.

To mark the 2025 Environment Day, BHAF is collaborating with Expertise France on the Pou Elles project to create sensitization on women’s participation in the Circular Economy.

Build Her A Future is a global initiative committed to uplifting women through entrepreneurship, skill-building, and financial inclusion. Our work begins at the grassroots level, providing training and seed funding to women in underserved communities—including those with disabilities, to build sustainable, local businesses.

  • Strategic Partnerships and Programs

Through partnerships with LDF, IPWR-A, and local accelerators, we offer business education, mentorship, and tools to women aged 16–35 across Nigeria, Gambia, Togo, and the DRC.

Our flagship programs blend digital literacy, inclusive business design, and peer mentorship to ensure long-term economic empowerment.

  • Focused on Measurable Impact

Each year, our programs support up to 60,000 beneficiaries, with 75% of them being women and 25% women with disabilities. We've launched accelerator cohorts, piloted accessible digital tools, and built a network of advocates and alumni who continue to drive community-led change.

  • Designing a More Equitable Future

Our work is rooted in research, policy advocacy, and community design projects that address systemic inequality.
